The default state of being

I used to think that the default state of being is happiness, but I realised that happiness is an emotion released when something we perceive as good happens to us or we realise an expected outcome. This is one dimensional as we can have different expected outcomes within a day that could trigger both happiness and sadness in our lives. Therefore the default state of being cannot be happiness or sadness, neither could it be positive or negative. It has to be something that exists outside of positive and negative polarities. Constantly holding unto certain expected outcome causes untold sufferings to us time and time again and we always fail to pause and learn our lessons.

To understand the default state of being, we should take a clue from inspired writing on how God operates. He does not discriminate and gives life and blessings to both the so called good and evil.

To be able to do what God does, we have to transcend the positive and negative polarities and learn to be neutral and non judgemental in dealing with ourselves, people and situations. We should always return back to the present moment as observers and allow the wisdom of God to prevail in every circumstances. Being a neutral observant, we cannot take sides, but should trust that the universe will take care of every situation in accordance to the law of cause and effect that never fails and is never partial.

Surrender in the here and now, observe how your emotions play out in different circumstances, accept and love yourself in all situations and just be grateful for being. Know that you’re going to live with yourself forever, so the early you start to get comfortable with all your experiences, the more fulfilling your life will be.
